So far, just one broken pipe. Wasn’t essential, so I trimmed it and capped it. I dread the thaw, when I find all the broken stuff. This snow and ice has been a real problem, but the thaw might be as bad.
We had power last night, and I got the first real good night’s sleep in about 5 days.

BIL in Rowlett woke up this morning to find flooding in the ground floor of his home. A pipe had burst somewhere on the second floor. Their heat was off for two days. It came on yesterday.
Flooded kitchen, hardwood floors, marble floors. Had to cut off the water completely and the power in that area, there's in-floor electrical outlets. What a wreck. May take months to repair. They say they kept faucets dripping.
Side note: please be extra careful with candles out there right now. Fire could be devastating.

No new damage. Couple of old limbs.

My pool and associated equipment is probably done for. House is good, all faucets dripping. Might lose the freezer contents in a few days.

No broken pipes yet, but no water and power this morning so that can change. Going to melt a hole in the swimming pool water to get some to flush the toilets with. Sure hope pinkies opens today, my crown supply is at a critical level!

Lost one pipe in laundry. I was sure I had it prepped. But this cold is constant for a bit more. Was able to cut out the split and solder in another pretty quick. Course shortly after the pumps at our water company gave out. We have had electric though.

Been fortunate here, but had a buddy with busted pipes in his attic above the 2nd story. Flooded a lot of his house before he could find the meter and get it turned out. I'd reach out to anyone you know who's home hasn't had power for a while and advise them to find the main water supply line and valve to shut the water off. The 10 minutes it took him to find his valve resulted in mostly likely over 100K in damages.
I'm afraid there's going to be 1000s of flooded homes once we start to thaw.

Biggest loss was city water shut down, but our section of town was first one repaired. We winterized everything back in the 1983 blizzard, so all the pipes etc., are well protected. Even the rolling blackouts have not happened in our neighborhood.
