Last time we went below zero I was hunting in San Saba/McCullough County. I put wife in a 12' tower and decided to just keep 2 year old in truck with me. Ranch owner sat in a different tower. He shot biggest buck to date on his ranch. Wife shot a doe. I heard shot and met her walking down road. I field dressed the ranch owners buck and he boogied. Then I had to skin and quarter wife's doe.

it can be some of the best time ta hunt... Been out in -40 ta -60° with wind chill, (roughly 30min) on archery & muzzleloader hunts.. Wildlife live out thar.... With all the hunting stands & heaters, its doable... Twas down @ OSBWMA in a two man tent, with an old (lost some of its warmth) summer rated sleeping bag... Had a Susuki Samurai, no top, so no place ta warm up, on an archery hunt in 9° temps twas ÷negative temps with wind chill... i like the cold, done lots of hog hunts in snow... Moving about kept me warm... Dress acordlingly... Stay Safe & Warm :angle: prayers for those with out power...

We had buddy's Pinto loaded to the gills. Went down a forest service road that with sign that read Primitive Road Safe for Trucks Only. Hunted all day and set up tent. We woke up to a foot of snow. A Blazer towed us out. I got home to 3" of snow and grabbed gun and headed out back door. Still hunted and had my buck in 15 minutes.

The Ford Pinto made a great lil' hunin' buddy. Lots of clearance and an exceptional amount of room. AMC 'Pacer' was another great vehicle for hunting.
