I'm thinking after even lower temps tonight, and even more outtages through tomorrow, or even the rest of the week, people are not going to be satisfied with more excuses from those who are in charge of our power grid. mad

It's time for accountability, and to fix the problem!

Been off here for about 16 hours.

So somebody smart clue me in.
All this bullsh*t is to save electricity, right?
Everyone knows that it's hard to bring something
up to temperature, etc. than it is to maintain and
keep it at temperature with less juice.
Just like getting a boat up on plane, right?
Less throttle, less gas used after it's up to speed?
Like pulling a trailer on the highway? Right?

So, now it'll probably take no telling how long to
get the house warmed back up, and all the pipes
and related heaters and crap running nonstop
balz to the wall times how many residences?

Tell me. . . . . WHERE THE EFF WAS ANY
POWER SAVED ? ?

While some early reports indicated that frozen wind turbines were causing significant shortfalls, 30GW is roughly equal to the entire state's wind capacity if every turbine is producing all the power it's rated for. Since wind generally tends to produce less during winter, there's no way that the grid operators would have planned for getting 30GW from wind generation; in fact, a chart at ERCOT indicates that wind is producing significantly more than forecast

We had no power from 3am-11am. Got all warmed back up, and generator setup for space heater in the garage for the dogs. At 6:30 pm in the middle of eating, power went out. Would it be that hard to give us just a little warning before it happens. The water co. Has no problem doing it, they’ve got all of our contact info.

Went out at around 2 am, off and on this morning and then off from 9am till about 7 except for a 30min period around 1 which we decided was perfect timing for lunch. House got down to around 55 and we have flickered 4 times since 7 but the house is warming up. Guess we will see if it lasts and Generac will be getting a nice donation in the near future.

Power plants in Texas aren't designed to run in these temps. We lost all of our HRSGs today and most of our steam generation because of the weather. The rolling blackouts are supposed to last less than an hour per area. This is not what you are experiencing. Calm down. It will be okay.

Fannin County Electric Co-Op shut us down at 11 this morning. I gave it an hour and a half, and reported it, via their automated system. Figured I'd wait until it was restored. 15 minutes after calling it was up again. The Generac ran like a champ during the outage.

My water system has been frozen since 11 yesterday. Spent all day trying to restore it, and didn't.

I hate the cold!

We lost power 4 times over night. Went off again at 9:00 this morning and stayed off until 4:00 and only stayed on until 5:00. Running the generator now. I don’t know how some people have had power all day and no we’re going to be without power until tomorrow. What a joke. Can I bill the TXU for the cost to power my house with a generator?

Just watched the news for Austin, they had the long center (performing arts) lit up like Xmas. Why the hell is downtown austin lit up when everyone else doesn’t have power?

No, not really. If the plumbing or

If more power is being sold to new

that's not good

We would be at the mercy of the most dangerous monopoly on earth, the US government in democratic control.
