I’m in Denver area for work for 6mos. I haven’t been much of a hunter but here in Colorado there isn’t much bass fishing here. Any recommendations for beginner hunting ourfits for someone like myself. Elk?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Hey some great bass fishing in the small community lakes open to the public. Ft Collins has some and I bet other lakes around too.
We've got large mouth and some smallies up here in Eastern Wyo.
Go East for bass I bet.
You'll be paying NR fees to hunt too.

The entire Denver area is loaded with lakes that have fishing. Spend about $300, get one of the cheaper fishing sit-on kayaks from Sam's/Costco/Walmart and have a ball for the time your'e there

Trout bite year round up there. If you can find a running stream get some small nymph's with a bead and soak it. One of my best outings was in the middle of a heavy snow storm. Estes Park would be my first place to look.

Elk season won't be open in 6 months. You could do some spring turkey, coyotes and catch a lot of trout in the next 6 months.

Get a starter fly rod/reel, vest, and waders. Incredible trout fishing all over. Like QMC said, elk season has come and gone and won't start again till September.

Trout fishing is not all that.
Hit the ponds that are not iced over and have fun. Trout will be hungry later in spring when ice off happens.
They are boney, so so tasting fish. Easy to catch and pain to cook and eat.
Might get into some late season goose hunting right now, eastern Colorado has tons of geese and hunting for them.

Everything is iced up now up this way so look at the River also for fishing.
