My BIL works the grid, he told me to "put clothes on and turn the thermostat down, do your part" he also said we are holding on right now, but a couple of trips and we could be in some trouble. Tomorrow will probably be the worst day. Do what yall can to help.

We never go above 68°, usually turn it down to 62-63° at bedtime. Last couple nights left at 64°.

The article said people on Griddy are getting butt raped at $9 per kwh. Is that right?

Just turned down to 70 from 72 here. 500 gallon propane tank at 40%. Called last week to my supplier (Thursday morning)) and they said next Thursday for fill. Now wishing I would have put in a DEFIANT® WOOD BURNING STOVE like I had at the Ranchito in this new one I had built. That thing kept a 2900 sq. ft. log cabin ranch house comfy. Will have one installed for next winter for sure. Stay safe and warm boys.

Time to fire up Monticello again. I’ll vote for that

Got my gas fireplace going in my bedroom, and my fireplace in the living is burning natural gas Do you not have any insulation in your house? It is very well insulated, Frisco has some of the toughest standards when building a house I am still in bed chilling out enjoying the fire, the wife is in the living room so I have that one running as well. The way my house is designed it stay cool in the summer and winter on the first floor, the living room is 20 foot ceilings. I normally never run the upstairs unit, but since I am in pipe protection mode I am running upstairs unit during this cold front. Normally the top unit never comes on...

Still haven’t turned my heater on yet this year. Would rather be under a nice warm blanket.

68 in the day when we are home, and 60 when we aren't, 60 at night. Fire place is rolling and the heater hasn't run much. Plenty of fire wood to make it thru this one...

We in OK but I just lowered our thermos to 68 from 74. Every little bit. Don't want to see anyone without heat or power in this chit x2 - Lowered ours from 65 down to 62 degrees already yesterday. I have dual-fuel heat (Hi-Eff.heatpump / propane) - I have it normally auto-switches to propane at 20 degrees outside, but as long as it stays dry, I'm gonna test running on heatpump all day today to see what I can squeeze out of it, and take lotsa measurements- it's quite rare to get these 'test conditions' during the day. This will also help me preserve propane - as I don't have electric 'heat strips' on the system at all - It only pulls a couple amps to run the heatpump anyway. Lotta folks if on older (R22) builder-grade heatpumps are probably running purely on strips pulling 30+ amps at this point (below 20 temps)
