First thing this morning I noticed the heat is still cycling on and off instead of struggling to keep up.
That was good news.

Black ice all the way into town. That’s just two miles.

The Goodyear Wraglers that I hate do pretty good on ice but when it starts snowing I figure they will seal over fast. Truck wouldn’t hardly move in 2 wheel drive and that was mostly sideways. 4x4 and 20 mph get you where you’re going, eventually.

How’s your neighborhood?

Glad you asked. It is 36° here with a forcast low of 20° tonight.

White.
Cold.
Quiet.

Last thing I did last night was go fill up the truck. Hope I don't have to get out for a few days.

I'm pretty well stocked. May go out by Thursday because of my cabin fever.

17 here, they are saying 6-10" of snow for my area now. I shined the spotlight out at the yard just now and everything is white. Can't see a public road from here but I would imagine they are pretty hairy

19.
1/2” sleet / snow mix on the ground.

Not bad but I’m hunkered.

I am not far from you south of I 20 at Huckabay and it 15 degrees with a pretty good East wind. My county road is covered with about an inch snow and so is my lawn. Still have water and electricity so all is well . Stay safe.

I may have to go to the store for my mom. She ordered some stuff from HEB...Why, I don't know as I pay $98/year for Walmart to deliver....and I don't want her getting out in this mess. I also will probably need to take my sister to CVS tomorrow so she can get her vaccine. Neither her nor her husband have much experience driving in this mess. Granted, nobody drives on ice, it's more of a controlled glide, but still...

Frisco

16 and snow on the roads, just use common sense and easy to get around.

I just drove around in Frisco area for about 1 hour, snow on the roads only. Don't speed and you will be ok

Frisco are putting out sand at major intersection and bridges.

I did notice on the North Dallas Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway each bridge has a dedicated sand/snowplow sitting on the side of the road keeping each bridge in good condition.

Too funny, I have plenty of beer and meat I'll make it through the storm. Gonna feed my cows and give the chickens some water and that it for me going outside today.

I ran an electric blanket to my Sprinkler double check to keep it from freezing and busting

I also put a cover over my water meter box in case I need to access it

Not sure about the roads because I can’t get out of our driveway in the hill country. Tried and ended up sliding back down. Lucky to not hit my wife’s car of the house. This is where I ended up. [Linked Image]

I went to Walmart yesterday early. I was going to also go to Kroger for things I don't buy at Walmart. When my traction control light lit up leaving the parking lot I said the heck with it. Now I wish I had. I am thinking about going this morning. I have plenty of experience driving in this carp. Just worried about the ones that don't. We need about an inch of snow to cover the carp that fell last night. If any is out and about in Rockwall post on road conditions.

Finally got a little sleet with the freezing rain. The road went from dark and shinny to white. It has a little texture now. Got one kid to work and another has to go in two hours. Saw 3 cars while out, one ran into the guardrail.
