Let me preface that I have nothing to base this on.

I’ve lived here my whole life and am constantly let down by winter forecasts headlines. Zero does not seem realistic to me.
Never snows when they say.

Yeah, they are calling for 7 down here. They usually get the temp right, so I think it will happen.

Maybe NOAA has been compromised or that HARP, High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program was used to make it happen. Or maybe it’s natural phenomenon. We will see.

-6 up here, I bet it hits below zero at least. That’s some cold air coming down, look at the temps up north right now and we’re already under a winter storm warning. This sucks

I think many areas see negative numbers. has to happen every now and again.

I'm kind of in the camp of I'll believe it when I see it as well. I will say, it is definitely possible, but I do feel like they always overhype the weather and then back off of it as the day gets closer and closer. But we'll see what happens.

Looking at lows below freezing for 6 days straight here. 1st for me.

Harold Taft wouldn’t even give a five day forecast, he said weather changes too fast in Texas.
I think he was right.
It won’t stop folks from cleaning out the grocery store though.

School was already gonna be closed for us on Monday, late yesterday they already called school off for Tuesday as well. Usually when they prematurely shut school down like that it seems the anticipated weather never shows up. So we shall see come Sunday/Monday.

I call it the proof in the pudding.

It is unheard of for these necks of the woods, apparently it is going to get there or real close.

I hope they are wrong, but up here in East Texas I have seen 0° before (1983) and it stayed below freezing for 7 days. Everything froze at the chemical plant I worked at, had slushy ice in the radiator of my car. I didn't have an antifreeze tester and went by look, didn't do that again. They are calling for over 19" of snow over the next week, going to be hard on the power lines if they are correct.

Its been zero here before.

I'm still trying to figure out the weather.com forecast for my area. The 10 day forecast shows a low of 7 for Sunday, but the hourly forecast for Sunday from midnight to midnight doesn't show anything below 12.
Either way it's going to be very cold. With all of these days of sub freezing temps we're getting, maybe that mystical killing of bugs I've always heard about will happen.

A friend of mine knows a meteorologist and since Sunday he is told me that they are under forecasting this entire storm I laughed at him but every day they have missed the Lows and the highs where I live by at least 5 degrees. His buddyy says that this will be worse than the 83 and 89 storm so far he's more accurate than the weather apps .

Take it for what it's worth. But they were screaming rolling blackouts Monday. Last night they started telling people to conserve energy.

Predict low then when it is warmer, call it global warming.
