Are you looking for a re-barreled Garand? I'm definitely no expert on this but I thought the M1 Garand was chambered in 30-06. Maybe you are looking for an M1A?

Check out the CMP forum classifieds. A few of the Navy / 308 Garands pop up from time to time.

Quite a few Garands were rechambered in the NATO 7.62 round. There are some floating around and I think you can convert with a new barrel and a different enbloc if I remember. Here is an article that you might find interesting.
