I picked up some Butler Creeks and will be sending them straight back. Barely stay closed. I’m looking for something reliable. What do you suggest?

Thanks, y'all! Both looked great! Aadland were in backorder, and Tenebraex was in stock, so I went with those.

Ive always used Butler Creek and thought they were fine. I never tried anything else. Let us know how they compare. Everyone else agree on what was suggested? Maybe I should consider....

I’ll let you know. I have some Butler Creeks that have been going strong for over a decade. I have some that lasted one hunting trip. The latest ones I bought will not stay closed at all, hence my need for something new and improved.

I have used the same set of Butler Creeks for 22 years. Maybe you got a bad batch or the 6 year old chinese boy had a bad day?

I have the Vortex. The eyepiece cover has worked it's way loose after working great for about a year. Now after I open it, I have to push it back in place.

Similar experience and I started to comment along those lines but Im old school and still have lots of stuff from many moons ago and seems to serve me well. But, especially after spending time on this forum, I have learned there are better mouse traps out there for almost all purposes so i am keeping my eyes open for better stuff. Probably wont change from old stuff in most cases, but if I ever lose or break something then Im ready to go for the good stuff(buy once, cry once.) Its always seemed to me that Bobo is the resident guru on all things gear related, but lately ive learned he is so experienced cause he loses things so often.

I have the Aadland on my Delta Stryker and they are very well made.
But I have the Butler Creek on my 22 and they've given me zero issues.
It's one of those things you need to buy according to how you use the gun. Is it a safe queen that gets taken to the range a couple times a year or maybe to a deer blind once? If so then Butler Creek is fine. If the gun really gets used and carried around a lot, then spend the money on higher quality caps.

It doesn't take very durable equipment to sit in the safe 360 days a year.

Thanks again for all the suggestions and feedback.
I got a set of Aadlands delivered the other day and I am SUPER stoked with the quality! Jon and his team do some great work!
For anyone looking for a good set, I can definitely endorse Aadland!
