Our mail delivery is erratic, skips days, comes late after dark. Box is just at end of drive (100 ft), but just getting tired of making wasted trips in the poor weather.

Anyone use the postal app that sends images of mail prior to delivery?

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I've signed up to get Texts when a package is supposed to be delivered. I either Don't get the text or on occasion, get the text 2 AM in the morning saying my box was delivered at 5:00PM that i already got.

We got a P.O.Box 30+ years ago when I moved back from Texas, and we were in rented houses for a while. It was so convenient for many reasons, that we just kept it and now use it for all important mail. With on-street delivery, instead of actually up to the front door, I really don't want important monetary or legal mail being left out for any Tom/Dick/Harry to pick up..

The USPS app tells me exactly what is going to be in the box that day, and if I even need to go get it. The package times are sometimes off a little, but generally close. If you get a lot of magazines, there will be a message that mail they don't have a picture of is there also, since they don't scan those in the same machine. I love it.

I get an e-mail every morning with pic of most of what will be in the mailbox that day. Usually the junk mail or catalogs aren’t shown. It’s a great deal for me.

I signed up for it years ago, for Informed Delivery. I don't use the app, I just get a email each morning showing me a pic of what is coming. It also tracks packages.

Works out great

USPS is worthless. How many billions did they lose in 2019, 2020?

We use it. It’s amazing how often it shows out for delivery and I never see it. Shows x amount of pieces for today, it will be right about 70% of the time. Packages that’s another story.

USPS is a function of the government. It's not a for profit company. They deliver packages for UPS & FedEx at below cost because congress says to. Congress controls USPS. That tells you all you need to know.

I’ve been using the informed delivery service for several years now. Highly recommended.

They need to contract it out.

X2 very convenient and surprisingly accurate. I get the email, I don’t use the app.

Thanks, I think I will try it. We have a locked box, not group box like new neighborhoods have, but still about half the time the carrier leaves enough sticking out of drop chute someone can retrieve mail.

"Informed delivery " was suggested to me on here, after there was an attempt to stop our mail by some sleaze. I like it, except for the fact that I'm a worrier and I hate seeing the image of something coming from a taxing entity, e.g. a County appraisal district or assessor, or...the IRS. flame (The IRS stuff has been over that dang stimulus check, that I returned, that they sent to my mother, who died a few years ago. bang)

We too put up a locking mailbox. We're overdue for some more identity theft shenanigans.

My wife uses it. We have mail that doesnt show up from time to time. Its eye opening how much grows legs. We do not mail anything of value to our home. We do live on a shortcut kind of road, lots of through traffic.

We always mail bill payments, or anything else with info in it, either at the Post Office or a USPS drop box up at the corner. Everyone else apparently does the same 'cause there's only one box and, if you don't get there early, it's overflowing. (Fair Oaks)

Love the drop boxes. There is one in my new Walmart center.

I live just north of you and our delivery is the same quality as yours, I use Informed Delivery and like it. You should give it a shot, too.

I have it and it seems like a 50/50 shot of even getting the email. Had a pence of mail that showed it was to be delivered and I never received it. Clicked the little box that said I didn’t receive that piece of mail. Got a message that it would be investigated. Still haven’t got that piece of mail or any other correspondence about it being missing.
