I was at BPS this morning to get some fishing goodies. Took a stroll over to the ammo counter and they were stacked 50 people deep waiting for the few boxes of ammo that was available. They had 38Spcl, 30-06, 556, buckshot, and 454. Looked like a WuFlu breeding ground to me so I didnt even think about getting in line.

My prediction is that 2021 will be an extension of 2020, more gun sales, more high ammo prices. R's will take back House and Senate in 22, ammo will get closer to normal in 2023.

That's a long wait, but it could be worse. I hope you're right

I don’t feel that it will be that long. Some items are showing up regularly ie ammo, powder and bullets. Now primers are a different story unless you want to pay the ridiculous prices they are asking for them. I think when Remington comes back thing will turn around. I’m sorry I just am trying to think positive.

Vista (remington) Ammo plant Arkansas

Quote

Vista Outdoor, the company that recently purchased the Remington ammunition plant in Lonoke, said Thursday that integration of the Arkansas operation into its larger business is ahead of schedule and that it is hiring and training workers as quickly as possible to meet ammunition demand across the country.

During a third-quarter earnings conference call, Chris Metz, chief executive officer of Vista Outdoor, said the company had done a remarkable job bringing Remington into the fold, noting the operation had to be brought up from essentially a cold start.

I just got back from the big San Antonio gun show. I was in line for an hour just to get in. Ammunition was the BIG thing; both buying and selling. Customers running out with 2 wheel dollies burdened down with ammo; vendors running back and forth to their vehicles to resupply their tables! All of it priced out of this world but I never heard a single customer complain. They were all too busy passing greenbacks and credit cards across to the vendor. I saw a LOT of signs that declared "CASH ONLY" on the ammo sales tables.

Hmmmm.........
According to NICS there were 4.3 million background checks for firearm purchases in January. Yes, I know that not every check results in a sale of one or more guns, but......

NICS Stats

Note that this last January was close to 50% of an entire no so long ago.

Background check numbers really don't mean a lot as long as we can buy and sell to each other legally. Hopefully that never changes but the way information is gathered does.

Pass the gravy.

Midway has contacted me 4 times in the last 2 weeks for items I had on the "notify me" tabs. Yesterday they let me know they had Hornady 150 gr SP in 30 Cal. I ordered 2 boxes immediately and got a shipping notification later that afternoon. I can't complain about Midway.

They notify when they get the stuff in stock. If they haven't notified it is probably because they don't have it in stock. Ever stop to think about that?

II think they pick and choose different groups to notify myself, I’ll go a while with nothing and then all of the sudden I’ll get bombarded with a ton in a few days and nota for a while and it starts over again.
