A staple in my life has always been biscuits and sausage gravy. I was lucky enough to be gifted some awesome spicy elk sausage. I asked what’s for dinner. She said what’s cheap? I came up with this. Mary B’s frozen biscuits, buttered beyond levels of healthy, and spicy elk sausage gravy. I cooked the sausage and the fat was super runny so I tossed it and replaced with 2tablespoons of bacon fat and got after the flour until it was soaked up. Poured in the milk and kept on stirring. The result was nothing short of spectacular, if I say so myself. I used Skinnerback’s recommended pequin hot sauce too. DANG it was perfect! I may or may have not had a couple/killed a 6 of Shiner too. Why not?
Her- “this is dam good!”
Me- “aww thanks! And you didn’t even know you just ate the snot out of some elk!”
Her- “hmm! Spicier than deer!”
