Any of you ever heard of Sandy Ridge? I saw their listing on this link:

https://www2.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/hunt/planning/hunt_lease/details.php?id=1056

I paid and reserved a spot for the upcoming Rifle Deer season. Two weeks later, they send me a message stating they're cancelling and sending me my check back (they only take checks). I ask why and their reasoning is that someone bought out the entire season. For us regular folks that just want to hunt and enjoy venison, we don't have a few thousand laying around for this.

I contacted TPWD and the dude with the least ounce of empathy informs me that it's out of their hands. (of course)

Just putting it out there as a warning, Sandy Ridge is not going to honor their agreements.

A day hunt on 130 acres like that probably isn't worth what you paid for it.

Consider yourself lucky you got your money back.

Yeah, I wouldn’t sweat it nor would I spend the time to complain to much.

They helped you out by taking the entire day lease. Consider it a blessing in disguise.
