Actually, the panic attack of looking for a new consultant that knows oil & gas likely started about the time I was making the original post . There will be a big vacancy at the SME level.

Interesting possibility here. My current employer offers a nice cash reward to employees that bring new meat to the grinder. If I refer my own replacement, would I get the $1K check?

Congrats on the new gig.

Back in 98 I got a new and much better gig right before Christmas. This was before cell phones were common and every office number I tried to call to turn in my resignation was gone for the holidays. Ended up having to call the corporate HR office in another city and turn it in to some clerk that only knew how to answer the phone and transfer calls. I know how those Iraqis felt in Desert Storm who were wandering around aimlessly just trying to find someone to surrender to.
