I have a Tikka and my brother has a Bergara. I worked up loads for both, and they are both excellent shooters. For me, to make the choice on which to buy, it would come down to feel and handling, and I prefer the Tikka. The Bergara, however, is a Remington 700 clone. That means little to me, but it might to some of you.
I liked the Bergara, but love the Tikka.

I liked the Bergara, but love the Tikka. Maybe dumb question...is the bergara action a straight up 700 clone? Mostly curious with if stocks, triggers and pre-fit barrels can use direct 700 aftermarket parts.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

It has just a lite sporter barrel but I don’t have to have a huge bull barrel or anything. If I’m not mistaken it has a 1 and 10 right now so I figured I’d have to change it to compensate for the short barrel. But that’s all I want it to do is be 18” threaded and be able to stabilize a 90gr bullet for shots to 400 yards. I’m gonna try to get hold of s&s and get some pricing info he’s the closest smith I know of to me. Yeah they’re are pre cut or pre fit barrels but I haven’t done the research on them I’d assume they are good seem to be a popular choice and for bout $650 I could have one shipped to me with the barrel nut but haven’t looked at reviews on that yet My nephews have a weatherby vanguard youth, 20 inch barrel 1:10 twist 243 win, it shoots 100 grain nosler partitions, sierra prohunters, and hornady BTSP's all very well over 40 grains of IMR 4350. I dont think you need to worry about a faster twist. Even shooting reduced loads with trail boss ast like 1600 FPS they 100 grainers still make round holes and group well at 100 yards.

Cut and thread the Tikka barrel. It's very, very unlikely that you can load and shoot better than it can for hunting purposes.
A pre-fit barrel from bugholes makes the most sense after that.
