At one time the town you live in was one of the fastest growing cities in America. Frisco hired 25 police officers and 25 firefighters in one year just due to population growth. I can remember the first time I went there to meet some folks to dove hunt with. There probably wasn't 2 dozen buildings in the middle of town. One of the roads I had to turn on and follow was dirt and gravel. Probably 5-10 minutes out of town into a maize field and you couldn't even see a building or house in any direction. Sitting out in the field, you couldn't hear any traffic sounds, only the occasional jet way overhead. Now, in roughly the same area, there's subdivisions where the houses start at probably 3/4 of a mill. High rises that you couldn't see the top of without some twisting. Got semi lost myself yesterday looking for landmarks that I remembered that probably haven't been in that area for decades

You can blame the mess that's happening now on the influx of out-of-staters bringing their politics with them, and expecting a different result after their own state was ruined with bureaucracy

Maybe I should go back there, since nobody is moving there. My home town is essentially gone, as are many of the small towns around there. Lots of open space. Of course, you’d have to pick and choose where you’d live, since many of the towns are run by people that shouldn’t be running a fruit stand. Not my monkeys, not my circus...
