Anybody have any experience with these scopes? How do they compare to a vx3 or a Nikon Monarch?

I can only speak for the Athlon Midas 3-15. I like it very much, but haven’t had it a year yet. In comparison, I’ve had various Leupold Vari-X III and VX3 4.5-14 scopes for decades and have been very happy with them. There is one thing the Athlon brings that that Leupold doesn’t is an illuminated reticle.

Favorite scope so far is the Leupold VX5 3-15 CDS with Firedot. Best illumination I’ve used. There is, or was, that exact scope for sale in the forum. If the price is Ok, I’d go with that as first choice. The Vortex Viper Gen 1 had bad illumination. The Vortex Crossfire, very affordable, had good illumination. The Athlon Midas is about equal with the Crossfire regarding useful illumination.

If Leupold’s new scopes offer a VX3 or equivalent with the Firedot, I’d suggest a close look at it.

The above is based on scopes I’ve owned and used. There are plenty others, like the new illuminated Burris scopes, that I haven’t seen up close. I like Burris, so they are worth a look.

Thanks I know it may be hard with a price range of $500 but I’d like to get an illuminated reticle with a 50 mm objective with just the duplex cross hairs

And the illuminated part isn’t a necessity but would be a nice bonus.

I have an Athlon Talos BTR on my .22. I am very impressed with it for the price. However, the glass is not as clear as my vx3. On my .22, I use it out to 200 yards. I do dial, and so far, it has not let me down. It has returned to zero repeatably and did respectfully when I did a box drill.

I have the Argo 6-24 on a target 22 and like it fine. In that price range, the tracking is very good and glass is ok.

Just ordered a Argos BTR gen2 6-24. Sat on ordering one for a while. Going on ruger precision.22. It checked my boxes, including price. Haven’t received it yet so no feedback.

I own 5 Athalon scopes 1 of which is the 6-24? Argos
All work just fine for me
By the way Nikon rifle scopes are out of business. Nikon is having money troubles...would probably avoid them
Vortex is Athalon's competition and I have had both and like the Athalon better

I have an Athlon though a different product from a different series. It's an https://athlonoptics.com/product/ares-15-45x65-uhd-45-degree/. Seems to be a solid product and the optics are good for me.
