I'm not making this up. Just look at the health benifits from taking a nap. This is not the only reports there are man others. Simply pick your number. https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/502902/8-scientific-benefits-napping

i've never been able to take a nap, except when i was a wee baby. I always wake up more tired than when i went to sleep.

They say, several former presidents, that the best nap is to rest in a chair and hold a coin in your hand. When you drift off to sleep the coin will fall and wake you up. It is told that you will then be wide awake and you will get the benefits of the nap in mere moments.
Side note, a carpeted floor would probably give same results as wooden floors.

I’ll go out to the barn workshop/bedroom and nap, sitting up on the couch and with my legs on an ottoman. Super quiet out there, and 20 minutes is about how long I’m out.
Like Bill, I have mastered the art of the nap. It’s a beautiful thing, being able to nap well.
Heck, the USMC was always fond of saying “never miss a chance to eat or sleep”, so I’m still following Marine Corps procedure. I might even have an FMFM manual that outlines proper nap procedure. When the Major in Battalion S3 told me to throw away all the old FMFM and Army FM’s, I threw them in my car trunk. Still got them. If one of you guys gifts me a Browning M2 50 cal, I have the manual. Envy me.....

What I learned in the Service - "Never stand if you can sit, or sit if you can lay down. Only nap if someone else isn't"!!

If I showed up at a napping contest, all the other contestants could leave.
But, my big problem is waking up in the morning way too early. Then catching up by taking the nap.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Turned off the heat, crawled under the blanket, pretended it was a sleeping bag, woke up to a hot cup of Joe, and great on Wall Street.

They timed that Super Bowl right for me. It will be over at 9:00. Early to bed tonight.
