I have a bull barreled Handi-Rifle in .223 that I bought back in 97, it's always been my primary doe/pig/varmint gun. That rifle has killed more animals than all of my other ones combined, plus both of my kids used it to take their first deer. Just recently the hammer sheared on it somehow and I took it to a gunsmith to fix, he said he was gonna have hell finding the parts for it and suggested I just sell it for a "parts gun". I explained it's significance and I think he got the hint, 10 weeks later he called it was ready to go. It cost me almost what I paid for it new, but I got it back working.

2 rifles that I bought my senior year in high school, 1972 while working part time on a drilling rig. A Ruger M77 in .257 Robberts and a Remington 788 in .308. both cost about $100 brand new at Gibsons Discount Store in Gonzales Texas. Both are still tack drivers.

Two After my grandfather came home from The War a Texas Ranger from Matagorda County gave him his nickel plated service 1911. It is in my uncle's safe right now, but he told me it is mine when that dreaded day arrives.
The other is a .25-06 Ruger No.1 stainless barrel and laminated stock given to me by my father-in-law.
Those two firearms I consider heirlooms. The rest are simply tools.

Out of the ones i personally own i guess it would be my 270, my first deer rifle of my own. I shot my first deer with my brothers 270 though.
In reality I would do a lot to have my grandpas old 243, but it just wasnt in the cards. His guns were split amongst siblings by luck of the draw and we werent very lucky that day. It pains me that the gun was refinished re blued and a new scope and mounts.

I have about five - my granddaddy’s long Tom 12 gauge, my Daddy’s Winchester 94 and Winchester 50 shotgun, the Remington 700 .243 I got for Christmas when I was 10, and the Sako .270 I bought with summer job money when I was 15. The .270 is still my primary deer rifle.

Shot my first deer with a Remington Model 7 in .223.. That year for Christmas, I told my old man that my dream gun would be a Lever Action .223.
Old man later told me that was the hardest gun he has ever searched for, but he showed up Christmas morning with a Browning BLR .223.
Not sure Mr. Musk could afford that one.
Wife has always wanted some Hard 8

Currently it’s my Marlin 336 30-30 that I got when my grandfather passed. I think it’s an early 70’s. I thought I had lost it in an apartment fire once. It sat in our flooded closet floor for a couple days before we could get back inside.... it was a mess with surface rust. I was able to get the metal refinished and the stock came out ok without any refinishing thankfully. Anything I’m able to get from my other grandfather will mean a lot too!! My dad is also beginning to collect Ruger No 1’s. He’s got a 308, 22-250, 280AI and 257 Roberts currently. Those will be heirlooms too.

An old JP Sauer and Sohn 38H that my grandfather got during the war before he left Germany. Complete with the officers holster, spare magazine, and of course, the story about how he got it. Grandpa was well known for his tall tales. I never did truly confirm it before he passed, but it's neat to think about.
There will be another, but it's not mine yet. My dad's old Winchester 25-35 with the octagon barrel that has killed an unknown amount of deer and kept a few would-be robbers from coming any closer.

Ruger Single Six my dad bought for me when I was around 13. I dug a a foundation for his freestanding 40 ft ham radio tower. I was going to do the work anyway since I was free labor so his gesture meant a lot to me.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

I’ve got both grandpas shotguns...those aren’t replaceable. I bought a lathe and the first barrel out of it is/was a 7-08 custom on a Seekins Havak action sitting in a Manners eh8 stock. It’s turned into a real shooter, I’m going to give it to my Dad...the day I get it back will be extremely rough but it’ll end up being the firearm that means the most to me....it’s pretty close to holding that title as it is.

Ruger Bearcat 22 revolver, engraved cylinder, brass trigger guard, small frame, bought used from someone in 1974. Still in great shape. Paid $20 for it. Met my wife in 1978, she loved the gun because it was a small frame model. She used to shoot quarters off of a fencepost at 10 to 15 feet.

I have one of my great grandfather’s rifles, which means the world to me and is obviously not replaceable. My grandfather had some guns set aside for me, one of which was his WWII service pistol. Someone broke into his house decades ago and ran off with them. Heartbreaking.
My 280AI JG Customs rifle is my favorite to shoot with....thanks, FiremanJG! Right on par with that is a 7-08 that was my first to purchase with my own $. It is now wearing a 7-08AI barrel, and a new stock, but I love it even more now, as far as its accuracy.
Got my uncle’s service revolver which will stay in my family forever.
Those are by far my favorites.

I have 2 that I'll never part with.
My father's Winchester 94. His uncle (my great uncle) bought it for my Dad when my Dad came home from WWII.
My mother's Volunteer Arms single shot 410. It was also a gift from one of her family members when my Mom was a little girl.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

My Grandfathers Rem 742 Woodsmaster, my Dads 742 Woodsmaster, and my wifes grandfathers u.s. Springfield a1 Bolt action (all 3 are 30-06). Have several others I wouldn't take anything for but those are my favorites
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I have 3 that mean a lot to me. From one of my grandfathers I got a Hi-Standard Sentinel Model R-101 22 pistol that he carried in his ranching days. From my other grandfather I got his Winchester Model 1897 12 ga pump that he fed his family with on rabbits, pheasants and ducks during the Depression and from my father I got his Win Model 1894 30-30 that his father bought for him on his 12th birthday in 1953.
None of them will ever be sold. I have 3 nephews and some day each will get one of them.

My father's and grandfather's guns, I have past on to my sons. The favorite gun I own is one of the cheapest ones I own. At a mature age of 8 yo I mowed a lot of yards to get the $21 it cost for a brand new H&R Topper model 58 410 shotgun. Then raked leaves, picked up pecans and what ever a 8 year old could do to make $17.50 for the hand fitted 30-30 barrel to go on it. I was not blessed with any grandchildren so I don't know who to leave this to. But one day I will run into the right not or girl and gift it to them and pray that it is as cherished to them as it has been to me.

Granpa gave me a western auto ( marlin). 22 when I was 12, He would to hand me a a box of ammo and said have fun but be safe and let me run the ranch. I learned to shoot on squirrels and birds. My Oldest daughter learned to shoot with it as well and has it now. Second was A model 94 30-30 at 14. Still have that one. I have more valuable arms but these 2 mean the most. Its the memorys and not the hardware.

My dad built some rifles and he had a GEW '98 Mauser action, made in 1915. He never got to build on it. So I made it into a 7x57mm Mauser. She's a beefy girl, 12lb with scope, but beautiful like only a Mauser can be.. and I love shooting it. Feel a connection to my dad when its with me in the field. She'll go to my son one day...

I hope you didn’t get that 7-08 back for a long, long time, sir! Thanks SoB...he turned 72 last week besides the things are just wearing out part he's doing pretty good and he even whipped Covid over Christmas instead of being here breaking in his new rifle.
