I received this pic today from the lease. My feeder would have gone off about 5 minutes before the pic was sent. I can’t imagine the type of feeder issue that would have caused what you see in the pic, Personally, I think someone dumped a bag of corn and my cellular game cam didn’t catch the culprit, or they did something to the camera. Land owner is actively trying to sell, so it’s possible real estate agents may be there, but why would the dump corn in my feeder pen.

There was no corn on the ground I’m the pic before this one was received.

What say you?

I've seen that happen from really high winds.

According to the weather apps, it was windy there today.

Yup and some spinner plates are more prone to it than others.

All the corn to one side like that wind

Yep, wind. If there was a perfect circle of corn it could be a malfunction but that was strong winds liberating corn from your feeder.

The way the corn is laying on the ground, looks more like someone dumped some corn. IDK

It’s the wind. Have had it happen numerous times. I also have cell cameras no one hauled a bag of corn, only to dump it directly in front of a feeder/camera and somehow elude a otherwise reliable camera. Until it happened more than once I was skeptical but after replacing battery/timer I put an eliminator spinner plate in and it stopped happening.

It is the wind. It has happened to me multiple times with a lot more corn than shown in the picture. I have replaced these types of feeders with Lamco stand and fill feeders and it solved the problem. I was at my lease today in the panhandle and the wind was blowing a steady 30 mph and gusting to 35 mph all day long.

Definitely wind, my buddy has a similar feeder and we have Ramball’s stand and fill and I’ve been begging him to get another to replace it. Between the wind doing that to it and having to stand on his bed rails to fill it.

Good luck but that’s not anyone messing with you. Not sure where your lease it’s but I was out in the Coleman/Ballinger area today and it was so dusty from wind that I thought something was on fire. I also got 3 mpg better coming home this afternoon than I did going. grin

I’m surprised the turkey haven’t devoured it. The turkey typically show up with in minutes of my feeder going off and eat all the corn within minutes. Sometimes it’s not uncommon for me to see 30-50 turkey in one group of hens and young Jake’s. A group of about 10 Toms cruise around in a separate group.

I had the same thing happen to one of my feeders a few weeks ago. Definitely caused by the wind.

Dust in the sky all over DFW yesterday. It was the wind.

I had a timer go bad this year and dumped a few hundred pounds. I replaced the battery and the timer had the plate spinning forever. Replaced timer with no more issues. I’m not saying that I disagree with the wind theory because I haven’t had that experience. Go prepared with a different timer when you go just in case.

Def the wind that did that. Eliminator plate will fix it. Two years ago I did have one controller crap out while I was in the blind. Feeder went off and kept going, and going, and going lol. I had to get down, run over there and disconnect the battery.

I watched mine do the same thing Saturday outside of WINDthorst (name makes sense now). My son and I sat and watched in disbelief. There was probably 3-5# of corn on the ground by about noon when we were there. It was all gone the next day.

If it is scattered in the direction of the prevailing wind then it was the wind; if not, I would suspect a timer issue.

I am constantly on high alert for trespassers and would be inclined to think that it was human interference initially.

100% wind due to direction the corn is spread out.

Ditto on the eliminator plate. Got them on both my feeders...worth the cost.

YEP! Saw it the other day first hand. It actually helped me trouble shoot a feeder that wasn't working well. Motor was too weak to broadcast when the feeder was full of corn. Once it only had 30 or 40lbs in it the motor would work fine.
