I’ve never swapped out a trigger on an AR, but think it’s time and wanted to see what y’all have used and suggest. Thx

It’s not hard to do. I went with a Larue and like it fine.

Larue MBT for dollar to performance. CMC ain’t to shabby either.

Have a 2 stage geisle in mine. Pricey and a larue MBT would be second and a lot cheaper

If money is no object, take a look at Geissle Hi-Speed National Match ($280) for a two stage or perhaps TriggerTech for single stage. My Hi-Speed National Match is the best 2 stage I've tried and it is adjustable. I also have a few Timney's and CMC's and prefer the Timney's (crisp and no tacke up).
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Thanks y’all!
Also, maybe someone knows, but if I am replacing a PSA trigger, do I need a small pin or large pin? I saw conflicting info online

Good info and I always have to measure and search for sizes:
Trigger and Hammer pins - Small .154 / Large .170 Front pivot pins - Small .250 / Large .315
The trigger BF mentioned is cream of the crop, zero arguments from me. My problem us I never felt like I could hand my rifle to someone and let them shoot it, not many people and zero kids can handle a two stage when the second stage broke at 9 ounces (it performs as advertised). That’s where I loved shooting it but realized it was too light for most so now I run CMC 2.5lb straight trigger and they all break under 2lbs and are great triggers.

There is just something about 2 stage trigger I just can not seem to shoot as consistently. I has a Gissele SSA-E and just hated it. I learned how to shoot rifles primary with bolt guns as an adult. It seemed like it was always a surprise, but not in a good way like a jewell trigger is to me. It just very inconsistent. I'm sure it's operator error as I just dislike almost all 2 stage trigger. The Rock Rivers national match was the best 2 stage trigger I was able to shoot.
By contrast I freaking love the single stages. I have a couple CMC, which is my favorite but any of these single stages that are the drop-in style are my favorite type. I recently saw some Aim Surplus has their own generic one for right at $100. Not a drop-in system but I got one Hiperfire 24e on my fake-spr and I really like that system. They combined light trigger pull without sacrificing the hammer striking power. Really cool system.
Btw, even the cheapest anti-walking pins is a must to me. Some are as cheap as $12.

I've got a CMC 3.5# in my 5.56. No issues. I have a LaRue MBT that is also nice. Both are made in Texas, so there is that positive. The CMC is super easy to install. Watch their video.

I have a Geissle SSA-E. Its ok. Much better than a milspec cheapo trigger but it I dont think its all that great for the $. I have 2 Larue MBTs and they are a great trigger for the $.

I love(d) my Velocity but it has decide double taps are now the norm with quite a few triple taps thrown in for some excitement. Doesn’t matter which AR it’s in either.

There are so many but the ones mentioned above are all solid choices. I like Timney triggers EXCEPT their AR triggers and lately have bought Triggertech for AR’s.

Thanks, everyone!
I’m leaning towards the CMC 2.5# - found one new today for $140 delivered, which seems like a stellar deal. I’ve got one flat in another rifle, so trying the curved to see if I can see a difference and what I prefer.
Was also considering the Trigger Tech Diamond after it was sent as a suggestion. I have one TT in my main hunting rifle and I love it. But the diamond is $300. Figure the CMC at less than half should do fine. I am still wanting to upgrade the stock of the AR (so every bit of savings helps), which will be my next post, asking for y’all’s suggestions! Thanks for all the help, everyone. I really appreciate everyone sharing their suggestions. 🤘

Trigger Tech all the way, feels way better than my CMC trigger. I have the Adaptable set at 4lbs in my AR-10. Setting it to 2.5lbs before my next range time. Going to be buying all Trigger Tech from now on.

Another vote for Larue 2s trigger. It's the best bang for your buck. Larue also makes a single stage trigger and from what I've read, it's not that good.
