The other day I bought an "Atlas" bipod via a B&T Industries/Accushot *authorized* dealer's Amazon store. When I removed it from the packaging by one of the legs I noticed it spun. Strange since I chose a model with non-rotating legs. Quickly I realized there were several characteristics that were different than the real McCoy. Duckduckgo showed me that fugazis are a thing. B&T even has the following page http://www.accu-shot.com/Wright_Project.php. I submitted pictures of the bipod and packaging to B&T and they confirmed it. What's interesting is the packaging is legit. But, again, it's an authorized dealer so how/why does this happen?? B&T has a couple theories, but they don't matter. I suggested they dump them. "ETEB Store" is the dealer. I've already ordered a genuine model directly from B&T.

I have since received a call from Kasey Beltz, the President of B&T. Good conversation. As it turns out there is more to this story though I cannot share the details. However, it may not be so simple as what I described originally.

I got a fake from Amazon too. Got a refund and bought from SWFA.

Amazon is great for a couple things, but occasionally you get ripped by a cheap Chinese knockoff OR you get a close copy that is currently undergoing a lawsuit for patent violations  Atlas/ B and T do a great job managing their price protection policies. If you find one less than it's listed everywhere else, there is a good chance there is something not on the up and up about it. I love working with them as a dealer, because unlike some others in the industry who would say "Not my problem" or just shrug when you bring it to their attention, they pursue this stuff pretty aggressively
