Not really similar to nstra.
Hunt test
Pass/fail test
Designated gunnars
Level of steadiness:
Master-Steadiness to release - a nice enough dog you can put on a professional guide string
Senior - steady to shot - a dog you can take hunting with friends
Junior - no steadiness just have to point - a dog you can hunt.
NSTRA
Competition with points based on placements
Owner/handler responsible for shooting own birds
Level of steadiness: points until handler causes bird to move - walk or fly

This is a group of dogs I trained. Two dogs on the far right were handled by their owners. Agreed- love to see young people getting into the sport.
