Brave talk about not giving up our guns is cheap talk ------------ THE REAL ISSUE IS ---------- WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH THEM ???? ----- I have 3 grandsons,,, I have an AR for each of them, I have a Weatherby 22, and a Winchester 101 20ga for each. Plan was to give them the guns when they turn 16. When guns are outlawed am I going to give these guns to my grandsons and risk them being put in prison ?? I doubt it.
Plan B would be to sell them to a drug cartel, that doesn't appeal to me --- Plan C - just destroy them??
The reality of where we are headed is frightening.

I'd Put them in something waterproof and bury them. Near a good landmark.

Well that's pretty much up to your grandchildren, big brother would have to find out you handed them down.

Their friends will get the reward money for turning them in. The grandkids can go to prison. Utopia for anti's.

One shot is all it should take.

People will snitch on one another. It will be survival of the fittest. Generally speaking, your family, neighbors, friends will turn you in to the po po in a heartbeat if it means saving their skin.

I would stick to Plan A...if you can.

My communist college professor brother has spent his lifetime studying insurgencies and counterinsurgencies and I followed his studies. I've learned one thing; there are always more oppressed then oppressors. You don't really have to take it to many oppressors for them to get the point and stop what they're doing. The only thing is you have to be willing to do horrific things in the name of freedom and if you're not willing to do so then you will never win.

Trolling? Heck no, I meant every word of it.

My son has the same viewpoint as I do. "Come and take it!" Would I put him in that situation at age 12? Hell no!!! If he still wants to adopt that stance at age 21, I'll stand beside him.

Wars cannot be won on a purely defensive basis but battles can be. If you take the attitude of come and take them then you have lost before the first shot is ever fired. To win these kinds of engagements you have to have a very brutal offencive against the apparatchiks of the state.

It will typically be an ex-wife or gf. If you own a business it could also be an employee that you have trusted for years who gives you up when they get caught doing something.

It's not hard to figure out who has guns.
If you hunt there is a paper trail where you bought hunting licenses, and if you have a LTC.
Your neighbors know because they have seen you carry your guns out to your muddy lifted pickup with the stickers all over it.
The authorities will show up and go to the back yard with metal detectors and shovels, and a search warrant in hand.
Basically we are skiruwed.

Don't forget the Form 1, Form 4 and 4473's you filled out at your LGS. Sank in the boating accident probably won't work as they will go look for that too!

The OP is a legitimate question. Those of us who don’t want to be lawbreakers are put in an awkward spot. It’s brave talk on a website to say we’ll hold out, but when it comes to hefty fines and maybe jail time, most of us will pass.

Hopefully, if they do ban anything, it’ll just be like they did in the 1930s with machine guns and the 1990s with ARs, and all they do is ban new sales. We can legally lobby to prevent or change that. But if they go to licenses and mandatory confiscations......

Look, I can hide something as well as the next guy. But what would it get you? A gun you’re scared to get caught using, or keeping it hid so long that no one uses it.

What we can do is start now trying to educate the non-gun owners who only know what the anti’s are telling them. That’s more productive.

This is were those gun organizations need to step up and with loud voices.
So far I've heard crickets!
A ban is coming, and you can take that to the bank!
It's not if, but when and so far all I've heard is the NRA is going broke and moving to Texas!......Real encouraging!

Leaving this to be handled by the NRA or any organization will result in a failure. It is write your representatives and senators as individuals. But it has to be a massive writing campaign by 1000's not 100's. Follow up with phone calls, and request written replies that they support your views.

If 10,000 letters hit a member of the House, he will not forget that What about 1 Lobbyist, with no back up from any of the voters that put him in office??? Will he remember that? In politics you have to play their game, get their attention and remind them, they work for you.

Dogcatcher, you are spot on.

Abbott is already on this.

And an LEO friend told me there is a petition from Texas LEOs to NOT enforce any unconstitutional gun laws.
