this is Japanese Naginatat, a type of spear that would have been used in a slashing motion, I bought one when my ship was home ported in Yokosuka, unfortunately a lot of my personal belongings didn't get on the plane with me when I was flown back (no room on a stretcher) the blade is 1850's the saya has been renewed as a lot of the blades have been done, ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/01/full-3376-277412-dscn1723_2.jpg) thats why they make them so easy to take the saya off and replace the over all length is about 48"
