I was testing 7mm 160 Sierra Gamekings in my 7-08 and found an accuracy node at 40.3 of CFE223. This is max Hodgdon data but not Sierra max. The group was only .7 moa in my AR 308 that will do .4 moa with multiple powders and bullets. I have since loaded another batch of ammo with 40.2, 40.3, and 40.4 charges.

Is there’s any reason to do a 40.1 and 40.5? 40 grains of CFE wasn’t all that great. I’m hesitant to keep pushing the charge since I was getting 100 FPS more with a barrel 4 inches shorter than their test barrel.
