My friends stopped by tonight, and dropped off a special gift that they had run into in COSTCO today. Hatch green chiles in a jar; wow! Do you guys see this or use it very much?? This was a first for me, and was only $5. I can't wait to try it out.

Gotta be good. When we pass thru New Mexico we always stock up on the Young Guns brand of green chili's they are in the freezer section.

Walmart in Lubbock carries that, but I haven't bought any yet. Let us know what you think after you sample it.

I've got about a 1/2 jar of it left. It's good, but not great. It does make a pretty decent hatch green chili burger though...

I'm seeing lots of combos with it. I do a lot of quiche with chiles and cheese, and I know that green chile rice would be amazing too. Piling it on a burger, instead of jalapeño would be good too

We enjoy it a lot, way better than the canned green chiles we used to use (when we run out of fresh Hatch chiles). Only issue we had was that it only lasted about two weeks after opening since there doesn't appear to be a lot of preservatives/ingredients, which we also appreciate.

Makes really good homemade green chile mac n cheese. Make the cheese sauce with real cheddar and not velveta.

Looking forward to using it. Want to see if it is chopped, or diced more than anything; would like to see the size of the pieces so I can get some ideas going. I think I may put some up in 4-6 oz. portions in Tupperwares, and freeze it to see how that does also.

Really good in my dirty green rice. I added a half cup to make it a little more moist, and fluffier.
