Bad news first. Here in Western Val Verde County we have had 2.5 days of wet, misty, drizzly, foggy weather. Don't even want to go out in it. Good news is that this is exactly the kind of weather that will produce a boat load of forbs pretty soon and forbs are outstanding for deer. Could be a decent year.

It's rained enough to bring the green stuff up here.

Deer are not much interested in corn or protein either one.

Hopefully the rains will make up for lost ground.

It's been that way on the Pitchfork as well........we were scary dry and then the first snow came.......and the second and third........nothing better to soak the ground slowly and deep.......we have a winter forb rebirth going on all over the ranch.....cheers
