does any have any experience with this area. looking at a place tomorrow on southwest king/stonewall county line trying to get an idea of what caliber to expect. any info is appreciated to give some insight ranch is good size with bigger neighbors on 2 sides

I hunted there on a ranch in NW Stonewall and NE Kent little over 20 yrs ago. Quality will really depend on the size of the other neighbors and then how hard all the neighbors hunt. Even back then a lot of those ranches had to many guns on them to keep the quality up. 130-170 type deer were the norm on mature bucks in good rainfall years. 170+ were there but not that common. We hunted 3 yrs and had deer killed up to 170. 3 in the 160 were killed with 5 or 6 in the 150's in that period with 8 hunters on 14,000 acres. Bigger deer were seen but just could not get to them in that rough country. We had a very big ranch on our northside that was 35,000 acres or so that was not hunted at that time. To our south was some smaller ranches(+ or - 1500 acres) with lots of guns on them. There were some more larger ranches around us but they were more open grass country to thicker mesquite/cedar. The ranch we hunted had mesquite draws with cedar breaks in the rougher country. Some CRP also with farm land. Not a lot of deer but some good genetics that popped out in wetter years....we only had one in 3 yrs.

Thanks for the response. From topography this place looks likes it’s a mix of cedar breaks with rough country and then rest have sparse mesquites and rolling hills with grass but I’m curious to see it in person

That's some rough, remote country. From your description, it sounds like it will be way, way off the pavement. King County has big deer. I travel hwy 82 on occasion and have seen some very big bucks.
