Thinking about one so tell me why or why not. Cheap ammo can still be found. Just looks like something to ad to the selection. AR upper or AK.

I have a milled Arsenal that eats all that steel case combloc ammo like Pac-Man. The AR upper dealios are finicky by comparison. The CZ 527 isn’t a bad option for a bolt gun. The Ruger Mini 30’s are ok but they don’t eat the cheap steel case like an AK or SKS. I have been shooting more 7.62x39 since the ammo famine started to the point I’m going to pick up another stick to shoot it out of ASAP.

I would suggest AK but get in now. What was a $400 WASR a few years ago is now some $1100 collector's item.
Pass the gravy.

Built me an AR-47 in 2018. Love it but I imagine that would be very hard to do right now. If you can find a CZ 527 bolt gun I am guessing it would sell for $600 +/- and be a very good choice. I have a 223 version and everybody loves to shoot it.
It's not what you say, or think, that counts. It is what you DO!

I put together an AR-47 once. Palmetto was marketing a lower that took AK mags. That’s the way to go. AR-15 type precision with the feeding reliability of the AK mags. I hand loaded with 1680 and 123 projectiles. I could get 3/4” out of it. Other than that, I used cheap wolf, etc. those would to my utter surprise do close to 3/4”, but by 150 yards they would open up quite a bit. My hand loads would stay tight out to 150 though.

I've shot a Wyndham AR-47, it's run flawless with any ammo I've put through it.

The bolt and magazine are the key on a functional AR47. Just buying an AK is the key to one of them functioning 99% of the time.
Pass the gravy.
