If the box puts that their masks prevent the virus, and people get the virus while wearing them, then that company has a big problem on their hands. They can't control if somebody goes to a crowded wedding, or takes their mask off in a crowd because they "cant breathe". They are not going risk that.

It still will kill withbmasks. It is not about eradicating it, but reduction right? If people wash their hands, have sanitary habits and wear a mask, you are less likely to get sick. The mask doesn't act as a cure or elimiates the possibility, it is a part multiple things that will help reduce your chances of getting it and those around you.

Actually it's a dice roll, it's betting that there is % reduction in virus attached to particulates entering the air. The actually percentage is a joke at best. It's a dice roll for N95 and a joke for any other covering. N95 work great for paint and dust particles though.

Mask mandate is a social appeasement. This is per one of my good friends who is a surgeon. Masks in surgery are to lesson sneezed, coughed and gravity driven large droplets of particulates containing bacteria from possibly entering an open wound that's facing up, Not stop viruses.

I think all of those shots in the past do have something to do with survival rates. I our group of men that served in my Unit in Vietnam, all that have had the virus, one has been hospitalized. Like the flu shot, it wonlt stop the flu, but it helps to mitigate the problems and makes the flu weaker.

If you believe all this then let’s talk about the homeless population. No masks, no hand washing, no social distancing, no healthy lifestyle, drugs/alcohol abusers, poor diets, etc. So, why hasn’t the homeless population been wiped off the planet?

The approval of ivermectin here post election proves what a political joke the CDC/FDA has become. I know doctors that been successfully treating Covid since April. I know one doctor that has submitted another treatment to the FDA, for a new way of extracting antibodies... crickets.

The objective evidence shows the efficacy of wearing masks. All the blah, blah, blah otherwise is just misinformation and/or misdirection. Of course they don’t 100% PREVENT transmission (just like almost nothing 100% does anything). But they reduce transmission. In short, they help. They save lives. Period. If one doesn’t accept that one is misinformed. That’s not really meant to be an insult - it’s just the truth. Otherwise smart people can be weak-minded and be swayed by the crowd, their emotions, any number of things. This includes some doctors. That said, any medical doctor that tells you wearing a mask in public does not reduce your risk of getting and transmitting COVID is a poor doctor. Period. I wouldn’t trust them to treat me. Anyone who does even the most basic research on this subject could not conclude otherwise. Basically every leader over the past year has even stated their efficacy- republicans and democrats, with some exceptions and changed minds as some began to see they could use the contrary position to make political hay with the weak-minded. So here we are with grown men whining like children and acting like wearing a mask is the end of the world - using insults and humor as a way to hide their lack of knowledge and resulting insecurities. These recurring threads about what others are doing that are not hurting anyone else are proof of this. Nothing new under the sun....

Other examples of otherwise smart people believing objectively provable lies include the stolen election crap, denying climate change, that Antifa stormed the Capitol, HCQ is an effective COVID treatment, etc. None of these are political subjects, but weak-minded people who view the world through an “us vs. them” lens believe that they are. Just like the politicians want them to. The last 4 years have accelerated the cult mentality because we have been led by an attention-craving narcissist. It was all in or all out with him - many chose “all in”. This was actually understandable and predictable to anyone with even a passing understanding of politics and human behavior.

That said, those who say COVID is the same as the seasonal “flu” are just stupid. A coronavirus and the seasonal flu virus are entirely different animals. The flu killed around 25,000 people last year. COVID has killed over 400,000 and counting. Hell, it’s killed almost 25,000 in some weeks.

Again, none of what I’ve said is actually political in any real sense or really even in dispute by reasonable people. Sure, there are lots of internet sources spouting lies and conspiracy theories to the contrary as fodder for the weak minded. But that’s all it is.

Please just wear a mask in public. It’s not a big inconvenience. It’s not a statement about your manhood. It won’t ruin your life, and it might save it.

Others want those who don’t wear them to start because it puts everyone at risk. Basically those who don’t wear them are perpetuating the situation and slowing the recovery.

All these type threads are started by folks just wanting to show how tough they are because they aren’t buying this COVID “crap”. OK, so what. If others are taking precautions it’s not hurting anyone else. So why worry about it?

Just amazing to me folks can’t just take a look around at the sickness and death we’ve seen over the past year and wake up. Amazing.

As for living my life, I’ve probably lived more in the past 10 months than any time before. Hunted, fished, camped, and a bunch of other stuff. My wife and I have enjoyed all this downtime immensely. So I need no lectures about how to “live my life”. Never have.

But that’s just because of my age and circumstances. This damn pandemic has hurt so, so many.

You remind me of the 22 year old political science major waitress that lectured three doctors the other night at dinner, apparently they had committed a grievous crime via walking in the restaurant with out masks, only to walk 5 yards and be seated at a table not requiring masks. Those three doctors have treated well over 300 Covid cases combined. Two have submitted treatments to the FDA. HCQ is still being used in early diagnosis world wide. It’s a shame India an essentially third world country has a lower death rate then the US, but then again HCQ and ivermectin are readily available, and you don’t have Gov’ers banning them.

You only hear what you want to hear. And repeat what you want that suits your talking points. If you need a social appeasement on masks knock yourself out, but make sure you close your eyes when you walk out side on a cold morning so you don’t see your breath.

If you get Covid find a doctor that will treat it, and get on it quick and don’t wait around.

Amazing people are dumb enough to think if everyone wears a mask, covid would go away.
