Well this last weekend was definitely one to remember. Not only did my son turn 14 and get to make his first trip to south Texas, he was able to score his first deer. He has hunted with me on smaller ranches closer to Abilene for the last several years but has never had the chance to pull the trigger . He shot this cull/management 8 on the last day (evening hunt) of the season. About an hour before he shot his I was able to connect with my management 9. Great. Congrats. Hopefully he can be "hooked" without heading south. Nothing wrong with S TX, for sure, but he can be hooked anywhere in our great State.
