He got it from the girlfriend or one of her friends Thursday night, came here on Friday and left early Sunday morning. Says he feels like the flu right now. Also says his doctor said he would not have been contagious in the short time he was here, so the wife and I should be Ok, unless we aren’t.

I mentioned Ivermectin to him, but he sounded skeptical. I suppose I could use more info on that stuff, like what form of it I should get - paste, pill, liquid.

Best of luck for all. My oldest has had it for a week, with girl friend and whole family. They all feel like worst flu ever, but so far no worse.

Hope the best for you. My neighbor has been in the hospital for 2 months with it.

Get the Apple flavor paste that is what I've been told. At least he won't have worms.

I tend to automatically post something funny on any 603 thread but I caught myself. Nothing funny about covid so I pray all works out for yall. I have no advice on any meds.

Freerange, we really aren’t worried much. I’m going to the Tractor Supply Pharmacy tomorrow for some apple flavored deworming paste for the wife and I. What the GS is really mad about is that he quarantined when his girlfriend had it, when he didn’t really have it. Now he really has it, so here he goes again. He promised to keep us updated on how he feels.

I do ache all over right now, but that’s from waving a chainsaw around all morning and then moving large limbs and such to the burn pile.

Well, in that case, I hope he got it from the GF. If he has a tall good looking GF from a big house in HP he shouldnt be messing around with "one of her friends".
Keep that good attitude up, it cures wonders--either ask Bill, or look it up.

Not worried about the grandson, but for sure he was contagious if he was around you Friday and Saturday and was symptomatic today. The general guideline is two days before symptoms started, which would be Saturday.

Also, in my personal family’s experience with covid, first symptoms showed up in my family members anywhere from 5-7 days after exposure, so if he already has symptoms then he was likely exposed prior to Thursday and was most likely shedding virus the whole weekend.

Not trying to he a debbie downer here, just trying to tell you to get ready because if you are gonna get it it will likely be late this week or over the weekend.

603, be careful with the paste. I was going to do it for my dogs but my vet told me to use the liquid as the measurement would be more precise. The amount of Ivermectin mixed into the paste can be inconsistent in very small amounts. (his words).

He is young. He should pull through it with ease. Fingers crossed.

Yes - if you are going to go that route you need to get the injectable (taken orally) - NOT the pour on.

As a side note - animal medicines are not made to the same purity standards as human medicines. I would highly recommend trying to get a RX for the human form in pills or tablets.

With that said - I, my wife, and all of her co-workers have taken the injectable orally and have had zero issues.

Jetdad and Cochise, that’s good info. Thanks. How did you actually take it - with food or what?

As to whether or not we’ve been exposed is tough to determine. He was exposed on Thursday night and showed up here Friday night. He left early Sunday morning. His doctor says that we have little to worry about. We’ll see...

The GS caught it on a double date. His best friend dates the best friend (the sick one) of the GS’s girlfriend.

Washing one's hands is much more important than masks. When wearing masks people keep their hands up around their face all the time.

When I caught it I had been wearing an N 95 mask with a surgical mask over it.
