I am a boat and RV loan broker. Been working from home for at least the last 10 or so years .Covid hasn't changed much for me work wise. I usually don't take holidays or vacations without still working some.

Oil & Gas - Electrician, Instrument Fitter, Instrument Technician, Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor, Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector and QA/QC Manager, Construction Manager, Commissioning/Start Up Coordinator (Turn Over & Acceptance Coor, Systems Completion/Data Base Coor, Permit To Work/Lockout Tagout/ & HSE Coor, Simultaneous Operations Coor, Electrical Coor). Primarily work on offshore deep water production facilities, but have been all over the refineries, chemical plants, & power plants too. When not building facilities, I am basically part of a team that takes each individual System or Subystem from Construction and goes through everything with a fine tooth comb against all Engineering Documents. If acceptable then we do lots of testing, and then energize each System/Subsystem and work all of the bugs out. Eventually we get the entire facility started up & running together properly. Once we get first oil, or first gas and are finished, we hand the keys over to the Client (Operations) to run & maintain. Then off to the next one. Been unemployed since the 1’st of June thanks to Covid & the price of oil (perfect storm). May have to start a new profession with 26 yrs in (no idea what), future’s not looking too good. Especially now. Sorry about the long read, I’ve earned a pretty large range of qualifications over the years in this profession. None of which is doing me a dang bit of good right now...

We own several businesses that I oversee and I’m not sure what a true day off would look like much less go to a parade. I’m proud people have time off but I’ll rest when I’m dead.

Retired for 2 years now but before then worked in a Chemical Refinery. Was a machinist/maintenance mechanic, then pressure vessel inspector and picked up mechanical inspection when our inspector retired. On call 24/7 for the last 20+ years and if they could find you the 20+ years before that.

My wife is about one raise away from me becoming a stay at home dad.
Lol, same here. She whooped my arse this year..... she said my income was cute..... but there's no way I'm having any more kids this late in life. Hell I'm 12 years from retirement, but I probably won't make it that long. I hate my job. Truck driver for 17 years.

I broker the sale of fine farms and ranches in South Texas and the Hill Country.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
