Best steak I have ever had anywhere was at Legal Seafood in Boston...

I’m same way, I can make a great steak at home.

I always order something else when out.

Pretty much my thoughts too. Steak is one of the meals that should have the least participation from the cook.

We go to Taste if Texas every year for steaks because it is a tradition.

That is one of my favorite salad bars at Taste of Texas.

Yep. This year it was a bit odd. Told them what you wanted and they got it for you.

Good steaks! I ordered on line once.

I didn't know you could do that

That's the reason I always go for the prime rib. I can grill steaks at home but can't do prime rib for just one.

Sure you can. Cook/cut/vacuum pack/freeze.

I've cooked a ton of "big" meals for just one.

Or get real sideways and just buy a prime ribeye steak, season it as you like the prime rib, cook it to the temp you like and serve it with the horseradish sauce......

That is why I don't go to home cooking places. If I do because someone else wants to it better have good chicken fried steak. Best salad bar in my mind was at Steak & Ale. When I worked off Walnut Hill and Stemmons we went there for lunch.

Will you eat the two end cuts for me?

I would. I like the ends provided the roast is not over cooked. Mom use to make rump roasts and the kids would fight over the ends. 2 ends and 6 kids so lots of fighting. I usually cook 1 or 2 prime ribs a year. If I can't find a small one I will just cut a steak out of it.

Once you cook a whole beef tenderloin on a Big Green Egg, it's over. Best steak you will ever eat.

From what I’ve gathered through y’all’s travels is that the best steaks generally come from cattle country, with a few outliers.

Every region has their own tastes, habits, and traits. If you grew up eating grilled cheese sandwiches from the local Woolsworth lunch counter, There was a big difference from the ones in San Angelo Texas compared to Newark NJ.

Had a great one in Dodge City this weekend - SW Kansas and the OK Panhandle are about the only other places I'll eat a steak outside Texas.
