So I run a Vortex Gen2 Viper 5-25x in Seekins rings on my 22 match gun. Before I was running it on a 10/22 with a 50MOA rail which was close to running out of down travel at 50 yards but I still had about a MIL left. Switched out to a bolt gun for this season and bought a 40MOA base. So switching I figured I’d need to come up 10MOA but instead I was already about 6 MILs high. I bottomed the scope elevation out and I’m still 2MIL high at 50 yards with no more travel left.
How can I be able to sight in at 50 yards with a 50MOA rail and still have a little bit of travel left on the 10/22, yet on the bolt gun with 40MOA rail I’m still 2MILs high with not travel left?

Because all things being equal, the rifles don’t shoot to the same point of aim. And, well it's a Vortex.

You need to add about 20 MOA to your neck. Then you'll be able to see through the scope correctly. No-neck midget.
