14 mos of jail, and 12 mos of probation? Seems light for 60 deer, the $310k restitution notwithstanding.

I’m glad to see this guy does jail time.. 3 of the 60 deer were "trophy" deer. This isn't the case of an otherwise law abiding citizen going rouge upon sighting of that once in a lifetime buck. This guy was a deer serial killer, and previous felon to boot.

Felon in possession of a firearm should send him back to the big house. That's what I was thinking . Got the time for possession, he'll be doing a lot of time because I have a feeling 300K in restitution a'int happening with this guy.

I am glad the caught him and punished him...I think they could have been harder on him than what they were though. I know of another case about 10 or so years ago that happened in western Kansas where 2 teenagers were caught having poached over 40 deer. Lot of those were big mule deer bucks along with some whitetails. IIRC it ended up that one was an elected officials son and the punishment was nothing more than a small fine...$140 each or so IIRC. The locals were mad about it but nothing could be done. At least in the most recent one they made the punishment more costly.
