When it's cold, I prefer to wear bib overalls with a jacket. My current bibs are loud and scratchy, and basically impossible to stay quiet. Can any of you guys recommend a good quality brand that is quiet? (looking to stay under $150)

Your price point leaves you with cabela, redhead, scheels private label, maybe.

If you are looking for stationary warmth, IWOM or Heaterbody suit.

Mobile Quiet- Cabelas Berber or woolitmate, or Sitka’s fanatic

My Sitka bibs are great, but certainly not a bargain.

Just as a point of reference, a pair of sitka stratus bibs with anything under them will pretty much suffice for any weather in texas minus the panhandle. These are designed for treestand not box blind hunting. Could be used in a box but are designed with the treestand hunter in mind. I bought mine “used” as a return/tried on for over 130 off retail. There are deals out there. I wore them the other day with some down puffy pants under and a baselyer under those, in the tree and it was 22 degrees and i was fine and warm. They are quiet, windproof, but only water resistant not water proof.

Look at the used market or the barely used market and get some good deals. I cant recommend sitka gear for quiet bow hunting gear enough, but for “quiet” active hunting i think then sitka gear is probably a little warm but the stratus bibs do have two way zippers full length on the legs to allow some venting. The fanatic line does not have those zippers i dont beloeve, but maybe. I think fanatic bibs would be barely used in texas.

I have a pair of Cabela’s black wool bibs that I got over 20 years ago that are hard to beat for stationary hunting in cold temps.

Sitka, but not in your price range, as Bobo said. But, check camofire every Saturday on Sitka Saturday. You might get lucky and get a great deal.

These are the new updated standhunters at/by Cabelas/bps. Pretty impressive in the insulation level and new fleece’ish outer was quiet.

And close to your price point.

Bingo -- I love my stratus bibs and jacket. I can use it for spot and stalk because it's whisper quiet, or I wear them in a box blind when it's in the low 20's. Not in the budget range though, so I think the berber comments are the right way to head
