It's always fun when you walk into the first field and see a decent boar right away! Hunted a 50 acre wheat field last night and killed 7 (4 of which were lone boars that just kept coming out) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/01/full-65171-275158-137606801_10224132347234036_8726115275139308769_o.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/01/full-65171-275159-137554677_10224132343913953_5650933162591120526_o.jpg)

Nice boar. What Monocular are you using?

It looks like you use a PVS14/IR laser combo. How do you like the set up and is there anything that you'd do differently?

Good pig. Looks like he took a number of shots to bring him down.

Do you eat the boars, or just the sows? Neat pics.

It looks like you use a PVS14/IR laser combo. How do you like the set up and is there anything that you'd do differently? Yup just got this PVS 14 and laser last week. Had been using a Flir PTS233 thermal scope for the last year and just wanted to try something different. The monocular is mounted on a Team Wendy Exfil LTP bump helmet and the laser is a Dbal-A2. Definitely a fun way to shoot pigs but not being able to detect them from a long ways off is a pretty big drawback compared to thermal. I'd say its fairly effective seeing pigs at 100 yards but shooting them is better around 50
