Just a heads up if anyone orders anything from Midway USA I’d highly recommend shipping only Fed Ex or UPS. Something’s amiss big time with the USPS up their in that area. I’ve not had any major issues with the USPS for the most part until I started ordering from Midway and it’s a disaster in the fire storm kind of way. I’ve got 4 packages that’s disappeared in the St Louis hub and I’m pretty well screwed for now, I was told by Midway that their finding trailer loads of product sitting it trailers not being delivered yet they continue to ship using them so I wanted to give everyone a heads up. My UPS and Fed Ex orders from them are fine but anything through the USPS is a nightmare.

Please note I’m not bashing Midway at all, I have zero complaints with them other than spending about 5 hours on the phone trying to get the issues resolved only to be told to give the packages another week to show up. Very nice people when you get them on the phone but just don’t order using the USPS from them.. My public announcement for the day, that is all flag

Me as well. Been 2 weeks and tracking just says "in route" but shows no progress. This is the second lost shipment from that area.

Thanks for the heads up.
All I have from Midway is a set of scope rings and there back ordered.

With all the stupid stuff happening maybe the USPS has identified Midway as a dangerous company. I'm not starting a
Rumor just pointing out the ridiculous.

I had a similar problem on a shipment from the west coast. The supplier said they had delivered to the USPS, and had documentation. The USPS woman I discussed it with honestly didn’t know if they had it or not. It did eventually show up.

Yep, but with a UPS service called Mail Innovations. Nothing lost but last 2 shipments have been a week late, both times the package arrived in the area and then sat.....

What some don't realize is the you can mail using UPS or Fedex but they can & will hand your package off to USPS for delivery.

I’ve had this happen with Amazon but not with any other supplier. It may happen but not with any of my orders thus far. If this starts to happen I’ll go completely with Fed Ex exclusively. I’m done with the USPS, I didn’t even mention the package I received from some bullets I ordered from a gentleman on here that showed up with an empty box last week. It had this sticker on it leaving me screwed yet again by them. [Linked Image]

Think I’d be contacting the member on here asking him why it wasn’t sealed and why it was empty.

I didn’t want to put any burden on him and simply chalked it up as a loss, he seemed like a good guy and until proven otherwise I just took my hit and moved on. Some may have pursued other options but it is what it is.

Has anyone else had trouble recently with USPS shipments coming from Midway?

https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/8095198/midway-shipments#Post8095198

*I contacted Midway after 3 weeks and after multiple phone calls expediting, speaking directly to USPS in St Louis and getting a service number Midway very nicely resent the order n/c. Three days later the original order got kicked out of the St Louis black hole and I ended up with a double order. Called Midway and told them and paid for the second shipment.

I had trouble with a car part shipment coming from and going back to Boynton Beach, FL. Took freaking forever (~20 days) going both ways. Sent by Priority USPS, Medium Flat Rate Box. USPS is just jumping on the Covid excuse band wagon. They're useless IMO.

Our postal guy at work is named Frank. He is a nice guy. He has a lot of bad things to say about the post office and a lot of bad things to say about other people running routs for the post office. Frank is a good guy always on time and nice and helpful. On his days off most of the time the person filling in for him never makes it this far is late or has some other issue and they are never polite.

FedEx has a division called Smart Post, it's where they have processing centers across the US and process all incoming USPS packages and deliver to each post office.
It's done this way because FedEx can do it better and faster than the USPS.

Yup. Had a package before thanksgiving that took almost 20 days to arrive. Tracking on it stalled for over 10 days so I assumed it was lost, then all the sudden it started moving again.

I have noticed some other places I have ordered from (non shooting related) have gone up on their shipping. I was OK with it when I saw the tracking numbers were Fedex and UPS. I will gladly pay more to keep my stuff out of the hands of USPS.

Yeah, I had multiple lost packages before Christmas, and multiple other packages that took way longer than usual. Covid seems to have hit them harder than most. They've switched to somewhat of a lean/just-in-time operation and losing a big chunk of your workforce with that type of approach can be devastating.

I was about to say I just got some powder from them this past Tuesday. They took the UPS route and it was here within 5 days from order placement.

FedEx blows. There's a reason 99% of folks on eBay use USPS. They are still the most economical and reliable way to ship or mail something. They have been hit hard by Covid and it's causing slowdowns, but my experience is it's just slowdowns. The conspiracy theorists in the Bunker said the virus would go away after the election. Apparently, not so much.

Only a fellow union member would support the way the postal service does things.
