Congrats on the kiddo! I bought and saved their first camo outfits and future outfits and you can hand them down, my grandson will be wearing them now.

Congrats, joeyswells

It won't be long until they'll be asking for the truck keys...they grow up so fast. But, in the meantime, just remember: You have a great hunting partner on the way!!!

I got my boys each a large wooden ammo box - the real deal from Remington - to put their geegaws in. They won't let nobody touch them, not even close friends. They also like the hatracks with paintings of animals and such, guns and ammo, and old cabins in the woods. They also like the gun racks with the background scenes on them (They can use them to store BB guns/pistols/ammo.)
And don't forget to give them plenty of knives and a collection cabinet.

Wow - wait - this is a lot of stuff - maybe you can do this all gradually...

He must already be here since your signature says he is due March of 2005! We had our boy March 31, 2005. I got a camo onesie from Bass Pro and he has lots of pictures in it. Academy has them much cheap like $8.00 but he still wears the Red Head one and if almost 6 months.

Congratulations, this would possibly be a bit pricy, but how about a lifetime hunting and fishing license. You have a while to go and you might be able to convince grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, whoever to put some money in the pot for the kids future outdoor enjoyment.

$1000 for both hunting and fishing or $600 for a hunting or a fishing. You can add either on for $400 later. A kid doesn't need a fishing license until they are 17 and they only have to buy the $6 special license until they are 17 and they do not need stamps. If you invested $1,000 now, you could have a lot more by the time he is 17 possibly. I guess it depends on if you want to hedge that a lifetime license will cost over $2,000 in 17 years since you could easily invest in CD that would give you more than that.

Here is the link to the lifetime info. You can buy one anywhere.

Just use it and don't worry about it. You'll get used to doing things like that...
My 18 yr old son still has to remind me that the 4x4 offroad truck we built is actually his.

Congrats on the new hunter in the family!!! There are a lot of items for newborns, hunting wise. Basspro and Cabelas both carry clothing for infants. I agree with CHC, a lifetime hunting/fishing license would be a great gift.

Congratulations on the new addition. The only thing you will cherish for you and your baby is sleep, trust me. You can always find something later.

Anything in blued or stainless is good!

How about a .22 or .22mag cricket rifle?
I started by boy on one at age 4 and spent countless hours on the range with him and by age 5 he was already shooting a .223 and killed his first hog.

He is 22 and still has that little cricket and says it would be the last gun he ever gets rid of....and he has a TON of guns now so I know it means a lot to him.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
