Wondering if any one here managed to get one of the draw hunts from there this year. And what days they draw. I got the January 15 and 16 so looking forward to this hunt. Hopefully birds will get the memo to can by me once or twice b

You're a lucky guy. If you have an exceptional hide you can probably kill them pretty easy with no calling. Those birds are pressured and want a safe place to go down

Just got back and as mentioned hiding is the toughest part. During orientation they said they had lost a lot of birds with the rains in early January. Bring binoculars and hunt where you see birds during scouting and then during your Saturday hunt notice where they are landing and try to hunt there on Sunday. We saw a bunch of teal, shovelers, gadwall and pintail on Saturday and only about 30% of that on Sunday.

Gotten drawn there 3 times in the past. Hunting was good each time I went. Saturday’s being way better than Sundays. Don’t know if that is bc the birds leave or not as many hunters keeping them up. I think a combination of both. A lot of hunters did not come back for Sunday so less pressure keeping them moving but a lot of the birds don’t come back Sunday either. Some compartments are easy to hide in and some not easy at all. Last year we got drawn for the last weekend of the season and we were the last group to choose compartments to hunt. We ended up getting a 4 man limit Saturday morning and 10 Sunday morning.

If the trigger is gold, the birds will fold.
