Axis breed year around so their are some hard horned year around.

Not very many right now. If they had hard antlers they would have been taken during the WT season.

Last Axis hunt, in August, had a herd run across in front of us on a stalk. There was every stage of growth in the 85+ we counted. Never a pattern reliably.

We have some with hard antler now but most are bald or about a month in to growing.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Seen some last week with no racks, some in velvet and others with the velvet rubbed off. I don't think they are like white tail.
