New Year's eve morning. One determined fork horn was run off by this guy, so I was obligated to end his bullying.

That afternoon I used the "Bloodmobile" to push through the iced over cedars to get me to the blind. She got me there.

Nothing worth shooting, so I headed to the house at dusk. At "the fork in the road":

New Year's day afternoon, it was like nothing had happened...

(My grandson with his dad coaching him. He shot my Rem. 788 .243 carbine after this and now won't shut up about killing a doe or a pig. He needs a bit more practice, at a little more than 20 yards. grin)

Oak limbs down everywhere, due to the hours of ice before the snow. 'Worst I've ever witnessed. Beautiful and tragic at the same time. Lots of firewood for several years.

Classic year for those Broncos and F-150s. I sure miss the one I had (except for that straight-6 engine...).

I think the 300 I-6 was the best engine Ford ever put in a pickup truck.

If you know how to check and change the oil, easily a 300,000 mile engine.

I miss the old square body F-series pickups and Broncos.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

I agree Leon... The aggravating Issue with mine was that it kept cracking exhaust manifolds. Otherwise one of the best trucks I've owned.

This time of year I some times forget what it's like to have bare ground.

I got shut down by deep snow in mid October. My truck has no problem with a foot of snow but it was well past that by mid month.

I usually do most of my hunting in November, the cold and snow weeds out the weekend warriors but this year it got me too. smile

Photos are from 2015, my health hasn't been the best since then and I haven't run cameras in winter since then because of that.
This is about 200 yards from my kitchen window.

Absolutely! The 300 Cu. In. six was a torque monster and extremely long lived engine. When mated to a manual transmission they had plenty of power especially if a NP435 or T-18 with a 'granny gear'. I would actually prefer it over a 302 V8.

I like ANY of the Old Broncos and still have a '70 Model Half Cab and a '90 model Full Size.

Agreed.

If you look at the engine specs the 300 really gave up nothing to the 302 5.0.

I had 2 302 V-8’s and a 300 I-6 and liked the 6 more.
