A few of the items on my post-season regime list...

1. Clean rubber boots and spray them with rubber conditioner. Store those only used during deer season.

2. Take down and store ground blinds and chairs

3. Routine maintenance on the ATV

4. Store away all deer calls and other items not needed to hunt hogs

5. Touch base with the landowner in anticipation of renewing for 2021

6. Start rebuilding the kitchen pass account with the wife.

True. Thankfully, there's always on open season for something in Texas.

Not denying it. It's just that some folks consider their season over when they leave the woods for their last hunt of the year.

Yes, routine maintenance is something that definitely applies to box stands and hunting blinds.

Not sure if it works but I've read a coffee can with some diesel will keep wasps away until it evaporates.

This year we will be building a new camp house after deer season but there is always something to hunt. We just now started seeing exotics which we don't want around. It's been my experience that the best Native Whitetail are found where they don't have to compete with exotics.

South Texas general season is still going on till Jan17th if they have the tags(I still have 2). Then two week doe/spike season. In my county I am now in muzzleloader 2 week season. MLD does not end till last day of Feb. or till they are out of tags.

Yeah, if it's yours, I guess I understand. But if it's other hunters, there needs to be a talk. There's nothing quite as arrogant as a man, or boy, assuming someone else will deal with his piss.

With as many hogs as I have, hunting season never has to end

We still have lost of MLD doe tags that need to be filled so my list is
1. Put a few does in the freezer.
2. Since we had loggers in the woods the past two summers, look for new travel trails as our deer sighting have been way down.
3. Relocate a few hang on stands to said trails.
4. Keep the feeders running till they run empty.
5. Refill the ones we run till spring green up and put them to morning only feeding.

Immediately start on the next season which is usually always lease "management" related and not specifically hunting related. Often times, on a big place with lots of guys, I need to replace a hunter so thats job one as soon as I know.

I never understood why people just don’t pee out the blind door

To paraphrase from "dont mess around with jim", "you dont piss into the wind". Txtro youre too young for that song but I know you know it.
And other reasons for not going out the door.

Keep feed in the feeders, shoot my bow and work out.

That’s the key to my success

My days are always the same being hunting season or not. There is always something needed to be worked on.

Yeah, I'm starting to realize why so many ranchers I've met seem to be so dang cranky! grin bolt

1) Deep clean rifles
2) Get protein back up and running
3) Coon control with Dukes traps
4) Attempt to keep hogs in check
5) Blind / Feeder / Pen maintenance
6) Replenish camp firewood
7) Help the guys relocate spots that were "perfect" in September and sucked by end of season. smile
8) Douche the walk-in cooler
9) Clean out backpack and again ask myself how I acquired so much BS between bow opener and end of gun season.

Always something to do at every turn but I'd rather be piddling at the ranch than sitting on the couch.
