I’ve got land in Brown County (Oncor area) and would like to put an RV power box to plug in a camper. There is no service on the property, but lines are on my side of the road and right at the entrance. I wouldn’t need to go very far inside my property, just right inside the gate to park the RV. Any idea how much something like this would cost me?

Depends on the # of poles but less than 5k, probably closer to 3k.

My coop charged $850 per pole span they had to set, if there was no clearing required. I think it was 320' or 340' span between poles.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

Back 8 yrs ago mine ran around $1500/pole to run from across a highway to my building location. Should be a higher now...I have heard $7-$10/ft installation costs only in the Hill Country without ROW brush work.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Doesn’t sound like he needs any poles, direct bury to your power pole/box location inside your gate and presto. I did this to a place 4 years ago and I spent around $1200. Call Oncor and tell them your going to need a lot of power/building on site and they will work with you on the price. They did with me, cut the cost by a third,

Buried is better. Somewhere I have a picture of a racoon burnt to a crisp on top of transformer.

I'm interested to know how connections are made at the pole when you have a buried entrance. Normally, the connections are made at the wires that exit the customer-owned weather head. With no weather head in place, what serves as the point of demarcation between the service provider and customer facilities?
Does the customer have to pay the power company to bury the wire and install conduit where it exits the ground and enters the meter base, which customers are usually responsible for installing prior to the service install?
