I picked some 55 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips up from a member here and worked up a load this morning. Man they shoot tight groups out of my Savage. I am guessing I am getting some 3750 fps out of my 22 inch barrel using a grain under max load of IMR 4895. I have shot some coyotes with this bullet in the past and it seemed to do a real fine job.

Never used the 55`s but load 58 grain V-Max @ 3600 fps and they will flat shell out a coyote.

You’ve been reading my mind, I’ve been researching this exact thing. Glad to hear it works well

Never shot the 55’s but I run the 75 Vmax at 3300 and they are bad news for a coyote. Zeroed at 50 gives me 4 inch drop at 300.

Hornady Superformance 58 grain, 3925 fps advertised.
The 16 inch Ruger American Compact that is my truck gun is not going to do that
but this old man has been ringing steel with respectable groups at 300 yards.
I like them a lot.

Not from a 243 but I still might have some for my 30.06. They were hell on coyotes. 4080 fps

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

What's your twist rata on your Savage? MIne is 9.5 as I recall.

Whatever Savage uses as it is a factory barrel. Easily puts three into .6.

When those accelerators first came out a friend of mine used them on Antelope. We cooled the meat in my basement so have to say they worked on rib cage shots just fine.

No 55's but I run factory 58's from Hornady running around 3900 fps, they cut tight groups easy from my Ruger American Predator and my STYER Pro Hunter. Hornady used to make a 70 grain V-Max running just over 3700 fps that was great for yotes.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Yessir - they shoot like a laser! I've worked up some with H-4895 that are pushing 4000fps! Turns that 243 into like a 22-250!! Bang-flop on yotes!
I ran some 58gr Hornady V-max too to compare; the V-max do nicely, but definitely much tighter groups with the 55Gr Nosler's. Using a Savage rifle too.

I really really really like the 55gr Noslers, but they do cost a bit more than the 58gr V-max - I try to stockpile the Noslers when they are on sale, etc

Interesting that this would just come up for discussion. Some of us are on the same page. Yesterday I put up the 260 and brought out the 220 Swift. I wanted to hunt with my laser beam. Normally I shoot 55 gr Nosler BTs for coyotes, but switch to the 55 Sierra GKs if pigs might show up. Both bullets are very accurate and they have the same POI.

Found these https://www.sigsauer.com/243-win-55gr-varmint-and-predator.html at https://ammoseek.com/.
Have not tried them yet but even at $3 a pop, it will be worth it if a song dog meets his demise.

I basically use the 55gr on varmints, I carry other ammo for pigs and deer.
