Thoughts? I'm watching 2 doe right now eat at the feeder. Usually don't see squat until the snow starts melting. Being a Texan, I always thought how cool it would be to hunt deer with snow on the ground. After being in it a few times I can say, it freaks them out. Anyone notice the same?

I hunted early Dec 2017 in a South Texas snow. Did not seem to bother them one bit that morning. Talked to a friend last night and he said the deer moved very well in NW Gillespie County snow.

Dayum. I'm watching my hi fence neighbors feeders about 1/4 mile away and not a single deer. Usually theres about 10-15. Snow is melting but still pretty solid.

I had 4 doe and 4 ugly bucks at the feeder yesterday when the rain/sleet stopped. 5 doe and a busted up buck this morning in 3 in snow. I’m betting it will be on when the sun finally shows later.

I had always wanted to hunt in the snow, but it eluded me for decades. Finally got a chnce last year. Got about 5" in OK. We didn't see deer tracks, coon, squirrel, coyote tracks...nothing moved for 24 hours. It was very stange.
Sure was pretty though.

It is deader than a door nail here. No deer on neighbors wheat. I thought I might see a varmint or two. Other than the 2 doe I saw earlier it's been an unproductive sit. Electric heater sure feels good on my feet. Headed back to the house for coffee and a jelly donut.

I know those Trans Pecos Mule Deer did not care for the snow we had during hunting season this year. You had to drive over them to get them up.

Same 2 doe from earlier. Mom and her fawn that we call 'legs'. They're pretty regular. I'm blowin' this pop stand.

Havent hunted often enough when it is actually snowing to have a good enough sample size for an opinion. A few times after it snowed I would say movement was pretty normal.
As always, thanks for the pics STx.

The snow doesn’t appear to be affecting the deer movement but it is affecting my movement.

In my experience, the initial front and snowfall will stifle movement... After 10-12 hours, they have to go out and forage, period. Same for rain, high wind, etc. I love to hunt in the snow.

Saw snow just west of Comstock before the Pecos. It stopped before we got to out place. Absolutely nothing this morning besides some turkeys, and a lonesome javelina. I'm hoping they well be out and about this afternoon.

Just finished a bowl of black eyed peas, loading the cooler with a few brewskies and heading back out. Snow is completely gone. Should be good movement this evening.

I drove thru Eden yesterday and it looked like they were hit hard by ice and snow. There were a bunch of downed limbs, some bigguns, and several utility trucks in town working on power.
