He showed up on trail cam this evening. T minus 12 days...

LOL I have gone to the blind in the morning. It got light and I looked down and I had my house shoes on. Forgot to change into my boots! Felt pretty stupid

Have also packed up and drove to lease. Forgot my gun. Went to town and bought a cheap one and then sold it on ebay

I leave my seat cushion in truck sometimes. I have a tender butt and hate sitting in a hard plastic seat in a tripod without it.

New rule, never go to stand without rifle! Lol

My dummy nephew went hunting with one bullet once. Yes, he shot a nice buck and it went down where he shot it. Then a minute or so later it got up and walked off never to be seen again.

I was in such a hurry to get on the road once I left all of my ammo in a briefcase in my apartment 400 miles away. Didn't know it until I was getting ready to hunt Sat AM.
I had a 7mm Mag, a .30-30 and a .30-06 in the truck. Everyone I was hunting with were using .270s.
So after breakfast I had to drive into Carizo Springs to get ammo for the rifles and because we were also going to hunt dove and quail I had to ge a few boxes of shelles.

Waiting. Still. I had a friend kill a huge buck in S TX the other day and when he walked up to the dead buck just 6 feet away there was a mountain lion on the deer. I wouldnt believe yall either but hes a great friend and it happened. Anyway, I hope that didnt happen in this case and the lion got the best of Gros........ Well he would of had a rifle at least......

Sorry for the delay. Two of my best friends in the world and their families are visiting from Georiga, so I’ve been guiding, entertaining, and cooking. We have 8 kids ages 3-12 among us, so it’s pretty non-stop. The first evening I did finally manage to get in a blind. I had gotten a few pics on my trail cam since the first sighting, and the buck looked just as good as I thought he would and also appeared to be post mature. He came in chasing a doe just like the first time, but this time I was ready. I love the look of this deer. MF 8 with two kickers on his right g2 and another 1 incher on his g3. He has uncommonly good main beams for our place. I put a tape on him if anyone wants to take a guess.

152 an that’s adding in the broke brow-If they grow it we give it. I probably wouldn’t of gotten that high without your beam hint. Hes really great but seems real light on mass. No prior years history on him?
