We have some real variety in Red River County. I should have let this one go, she might as well been red/blue flashing lights going through the woods.

I always thought it would be cool to have a spotted hog shoulder mounted.

Never can justify the cost of it though

Must be the right time for spotted hogs!

I hadn't shot one in a couple of years, but ended up killing 2 spotted boars in the past month. smile

I saw a huge black pig on Monday PM this week with white spots. Cool looking, dude was 250+. Never got a shot on him though.

Got several spotted hogs on our lease. Are they supposedly uncommon?

This one was at feeder last night.

Wife almost had a shot at one a month ago. We’ve both been wanting to shoot a spotted pig for a couple years!

They are fairly uncommon.

I believe bloodlines have a lot to do with it. You can have more in a particular area because of heredity, and some areas don't seem to have any.

Shot this boar about 3 weeks ago, and I'd never seen a spotted hog on that ranch before.

Then about a week later, shot this boar at the ranch here, that's over 30 miles from the other place.

Pretty cool pigs, their not uncommon here. Every group of pigs has several in it with several huge boars running around but we’ve been letting them go to make more colored one’s and smashing the black porkers.

My brother has a solid white boar at his ranch in Llano County.

He would have shot it the other day, but was waiting for a big buck.

I think it's in trouble the next time he sees it.. smile

I've heard silver and gray are uncommon, shot a bunch of those. A few of the grays were almost white.

I’d say so

Last year I saw one, had it at 100.

It was during full on big time rut at prime time

I thought of all the times

I passed and never saw it again

Used to have sounders full of spotted pigs in Duval County, some of them I killed were very pretty. White & black, white & brown, the coolest one was white/black/red with outlines of silver around the red. Prettiest pig I've ever seen and have never seen another one like it, should have tanned the hide.... Then they vanished and back to black/red/brown.

In my main spot in Oklahoma, I’ll say on average I see 8-10 pigs

I’ve counted near 40 different pigs once and more than I can count in the 20’s

But there almost always solid black
